Trueblood Details
WHAT IS IT?

The Thomas Trueblood Club has been created to provide an opportunity for those who are passionate about golf to enjoy the beauty and challenge of our Alister MacKenzie designed golf course that ranks in the top 10 of all University course even if they did not go to school at or work for the University of Michigan.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A donation of $550, good for that season, goes directly to the golf course operation. Thomas Trueblood Club (TTC) members may choose to golf on a daily-fee basis at the alumni greens fee rate or purchase a season pass for the convenience of unlimited play. Additionally, TTC members may make tee times up to 7 days in advance and bring up to three guests with them.

WHO IS THOMAS TRUEBLOOD?

Thomas Trueblood was truly a renaissance man in every sense of the word. Professor Trueblood founded the speech department at the University of Michigan in 1892, the first in any major university or college in the country.

At the age of 40, he was the faculty tennis champion when his doctor recommended he give up the game because it was too strenuous. Trueblood then reluctantly took up golf, and Michigan is thankful he did. He founded golf not only at Michigan, but also for the Big Ten Conference.

His teams had seven undefeated seasons. He won five Big Ten titles and two national championships. His teams went 54-8-2 in Big Ten dual matches. He was inducted in the NCAA Golf Coaches Hall of Fame in 2013.
